Porter 637 C-GLQB Dash 8 Q400 shut down #2 engine due to oil pressure fault indication.

Flight aware shows it land at Pearson. Doesn't make much sense to me to land a Q400 on a 3,900' strip single engine when CYYZ is a stone throw away.

Narrative: The Porter Airlines Inc. de Havilland DHC-8-402 aircraft (operating as flight POE637) was on a scheduled IFR flight from Toronto (BB/TCA) (CYTZ) to Thunder Bay Airport (CYQT). NAV CANADA staff at Toronto ACC reported that at 2221Z, the flight crew declared an emergency citing engine failure and requested a re-route to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ). ARFF services were advised. POE637 landed on runway 15L at 2253Z without incident. Ops. impact -- none

I never mentioned anything about being heroes. Whats wrong with telling a flight crew good job for following procedures and getting the aircraft safely on the ground?

We constantly hear pilots (or wannabe pilots) criticizing other pilots for their wrong decisions so it's always good to see pilots doing their job as you stated, nothing else.

I fully agree with you Sanjket but you guys are not wannabes nor in flight minimum trown-on-the-job trained but have the chance to be trained on multi-million dollar sims. Eric
