It is nice to see some Canadian entrepreneurship again. It is very nice to see that we are poking our nose once again into an area where we once excelled. Especially before the Russians, Chinese, Japanese, Indians and Koreans...culver10 wrote:It sure looks like a nice plane, but is it not just a 737 replacement? The 37 is the best selling jet in the world and also one of the most reliable and proven airliners ever built. Airbus also makes some great planes this size that are reliable and well proven. Why would an airline risk buying a new design from a small company (compared to Airbus and Boeing) instead of buying the proven, tested, supported and reliable airplane?

The claim is the CSeries is 15 to 20% lower operating cost than competing aircraft in the 100-149 seat range. Bombardier has a lot of experience with airliners and they have the capability to do this. If the numbers are real, it will be very competitive if not a game changer in the 100-130 seat market. There are a lot of Boeing 737-200/500 and some Airbus 318/319, that are coming up for replacement. They could also give both Boeing and Airbus serious competition in in the 130+ seat range.culver10 wrote:It sure looks like a nice plane, but is it not just a 737 replacement?
