Could anyone elaborate on the schedule? How many days off to you get per month. How many days in a row?

12 days off a month guaranteed. You bid for days off based on seniority.

You don't have that much control over how much you work. Bases are filled with new hires based on the spots open when you're hired. That being said, Winnipeg doesn't look like it will have much turnover in the near future.

So basically you fly whatever they assign you to?can you still swap with other flight crew?

Btw I am currently in oversea to renew my passport, should be back to Canada in two weeks, if they can't reach you over the phone, would they send out an email for invitation?

Once again, thank you for answering .

Crusty,
Ok for 12 days off. Now do you get one day at a time or you get a block of several days? Thanks!

All depends on how many you bid off in a row. It's up to you what you bid off (single days or longer stretches) but what you can actually hold will depend on your seniority.

The Bear has a reputation of being a great place to work. I've sub-chartered for them on several occasions and we've always been treated VERY well. I know several of their crews. They are very happy puppies. Every company has downsides. The Bear has very few. You could do FAR worse. Most do.

I'm not "in the know", but they have all the bells and whistles as far as interline agreements go. Far more than jump seat agreements. They're a "real" airline in that regard.

Indieadventurer,
Are these travel benefits available from day 1 at the bear or the usual 6 months wait?
Thanx!

You can jumpseat pretty much right away, 3 months for Bearskin passes, 6 months for the rest.

Another groundschool running now, things may be slowing down with summer coming soon. Although, there have been a few interviews lately (westjet, ac, porter) so there could very well be another one sooner than anticipated.
