Recalll aircrew AT

Post by DGuy »

Is there any more news of Air Transat recalling flight attendants and pilots in April ? I assume that one cabin staff less per aircraft would result in +\- 80 less flight attendants. I hope that all those who are still waiting for a recall will soon get some possitive news.

A small number of pilots were recalled last month; there is still a fair number of guys on furlough; however, most of them have found other jobs. The only recalls we will likely see for the summer are to replace pilots who are leaving. There was 1 pilot recalled in April I believe. Maybe a handful or so more will get recalled, that's just a guess of mine though. Company is trying to operate skinny, so they may decide they need some more guys to act as a buffer. Who knows.

There was an additional 150 FAs laid off, just after we recalled some. I don't think it has anything to do with needing 1 less FA per airplane as the concessions won't take effect unless we get the 737s. There was just less summer flying announced this year compared to last. But there will probably be some FA recalls too once we get closer to summer.
