Can someone identify this panel?

Post by bmc »

This is driving me nuts. Someone posted this on FB asking what it was. For the life of me, and good part of my afternoon, I can't figure it out.

Any ideas?

Looks like a C310, perhaps mid 70's?

My first clue it was a Cessna was the control lock. But when I Googled the range of Cessna panels, I couldn't find a match.

For some strange reason, I though you would be one of the first responders. Thanks for that.

Would a C310 door handle be located there?

I'm obsessing about it now and I don't even think I'm close. The control lock plate looks Cessna. The door handle looks Cessna any time from the 1950s to very early 1970s. The rudder pedals are obviously not very helpfull. I found a Beech panel on google image that seemed to have the same rectangular overall shape but there was a Beechcraft symbol on those rudder pedals.

Edit: That 310R flyguy posted seems to have the exact right rectagular shape. The R is the newest model. I'm leaning toward it being two older than the R possibly. The yokes seem odd.

Edit 2: Anything older than a Q seems to be quite diferent with an extra area on the top.

Edit 3: I'm pretty sure it's either a 310Q or possibly another 300 series.

I you go to the 3rd picture this one's close. http://www.aso.com/listings/spec/ViewAd.aspx?id=142927

The yokes are for certain throwing me off here.

Edit: This one's really close except the yokes and it has leather. Scroll down aways for the interior picture.

Another vote for the 310R - the yokes on the older models are certainly different. Airliners.net only has late model 310 panels, but the Brazilian 310R looks to be a close match.

I originally was thinking maybe a Cessna Crusader, but then I read Beat-it-arian's post and thought his answer was better.

Definitely a C 310R. The control wheels are the newest style and were installed in the 1978 and later versions of all the Cessna twins.

Collins made a big push with the Micro line series radios in 1978 -1980. But by 1980 it was evident what a total POS they were so you don't see very many aircraft with those radio,s built after 1980, so that and the fact that it has the lame Seventies garish upholstery make it most likely a 1978 or 1979 model.

Have over 600 Hrs on the Cessna 310R ... It's been almost 20 years now. At first glance that was my guess...previous posters opinion makes me think I am remembering correctly. Then again...been wrong before. :-)

I'm not sure which STC I like more; the calculator on the left or the pocket watch on the right.

I deleted a bunch of off-topic posts. The same names keep coming up, which is starting to bore me. I feel wind, and I see trees. I'm thinking the trees must be making the wind. Next time I feel a gust, I'm bringing a chainsaw. This is not an idle threat.

Or we can keep it on topic, that would be acceptable too.
