Is there any truth to these rumors? Did they in fact lose the contract?

Well from what I hear, Orca airways is doing a pretty good job, considering that its going through a huge growth spurt. No idea why some one would post wrong information without knowing all the facts! I hope that there is no truth to them losing Dynamex!

It would be nice to know where everyone is getting their information..some saying they have lost the contract, others saying they still have it. People stating facts, without any info on how reliable their source is!

Coming from a reliable source, looks like Orca's lost it and Carson Vancouver base is opening back up...

Positive rate27...how are you so sure. Seems like no one here has any facts to substantiate their claims. How is a) Rowdy so sure, and b) positiverate27 so sure.
Can you shed some more light onto the subject?

Why? So one scabby operator can go on undercutting a slightly less scabby operator?

I don't look at it that way. I look at it from the side of the pilots. If Orca loses that contract they have those metro pilots out of work. What happens to them? Do they go back flying the Navajo? Then with the excess amount of Navojo pilots, will they get laid off? In the 703 world the margins are so tight, it's a given that operators will continue to quote the lowest bid. Lots of business at lower bids is better than no business.
Once again, this is all speculation. We don't even know if in fact Orca has even lost the contract.

You pretty much sum up the problem right there... the business is there no matter the rate. The banks need those flights to go. So scabbiest company gets the business at the detriment of slightly less scabby company... assuming the banks are kept happy with service business goes cheapest? how are they cheapest? Poorer pay, conditions, maintenance... I don't know, but I'd bet all the above... the drivers can go across the parking lot for work, most won't be out...

I still think its a lot of speculation. There is also another 3 metro contract up for bid, based out of YVR. Are you 100% sure that Orca has lost the Dynamex contract or is it that Carson has successfully bid on the new Metro contract and people are getting a bit confused? Can anyone shed more light on the subject?

You must be new here. That is SOP for Avcanada lol.

If they did lose Dynamex it could be a blessing in disguise. Dealing with those clowns was always a royal pain. I know I will die happy never having to handle their filthy, wet, reeking bags ever again. Or waiting for them to sort their crap out by the aircraft at typically glacial pace before I can depart. Or dealing with pen whipped load sheets that amazingly always add up perfectly to your max load. You know its bad when you would rather play the UPS version of Tetris than do that.

I guess we all find out when the Metros are gracing the ramp instead of the sky. Or the second coming of Carson arrives as stated...

So.. because you apparently know everything.. I figured I'd check some facts. A quick call to the ops manager, who happens to be an old friend was all it took. They have not lost the contract.
