Tips to get Dispatch Job

Post by CallMeMister »

Hello,

Do someone have any tips on finding, getting a Flight Dispatch job ( i passed my exam, I have close to none experience with Dx )

Apart from looking the Job postings forum, do airlines hire dispatchers even tho there is no job postings ?

It doesnt hurt to apply when they dont have a current posting. Some of the smaller airlines like Porter will look back into their records of who has applied before when they're ready to hire. From what I've noticed is the larger companies like Air Canada and WestJet will usually hire from within but they have hired externally before. If your willing to work in something like reservations or customer service for a bit and wait for an opening you would have a better chance then applying externally when the posting comes up. Others to try out for a first dispatch job would be Provincial or Voyageur and get the experience going right away.

Hope that helps

Cheers
