Time Building
I'm just wondering how many hours people fly in a month/year. We all know that this number changes between corporate flying, airline, air ambulance, bush, or instructing.
I get about 30 hours / month or somewhere around 350 / year flying air ambulance.
I'm wondering what hours other pilots get.

Re: Time Building
Last year flying a Caravan around the Yukon my busiest month was 150hrs, the quietest was about 60hrs. I only worked for 8 months though. This year I'll work for 4 months I expect between 400/500 hours for the season.

Re: Time Building
I usually come in at around 60 per month minimum, but I can do as many as 100 if I make some shift trades. I have flexibility there, which is nice.

As low as 170, as high as 300. Did 230 the last 365... the bulk of it between June and September.
I'm not really 'time building' per se.

Re: Time Building
Due to the nature of what I do, I typically
have more flights than hours. And, I hate
to fly in the winter.
This yields the following historical numbers:

2011....290........241
2010....199........138

Re: Time Building
Me neither, I'm not sure when it stopped mattering. Weird how life changes.iflyforpie wrote: I'm not really 'time building' per se.
I do about 300 a year, plus or minus, and oddly enough anymore that doesn't drop off when the snow flies. Most of it instructing, though I'm happier to say that I have time to make up a larger percentage of those hours just having fun.
Re: Time Building
Oddly enough it doesn't matter what kind of flying I do. Medevac, corporate, airline, it always works out to 350 hours a year every year.

Re: Time Building
400+ a year normally, with most of it crammed in between March and November. It's been an odd start to the survey year though so it'll be interesting to see how the log book ends up looking at the end of the year this year.
Re: Time Building
Last year only 250, but already 175 this year. Most of the flying usually between April to November. Survey flying in the trusty HO.
Re: Time Building
Averaging about 70 hrs a month, almost 800 in the last 365. B1900 in YYC.
Re: Time Building
Average of 50/month with upwards of 100 in the summer and 30 in winter.
610 hours in last 365 days.
