Travolta donates his Gulfstream IISP to Georgia Museum

Post by bizjets101 »

Click Here (Video) Actor John Travolta donated his Gulfstream G-2 to the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame, a state agency based at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins.

Lance Toland, chairman of the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame, says Travolta hopes his donation will inspire children to study math, science and aerospace.

He says the aircraft was built in Savannah, and the actor flew the plane for over 20 years with several famous names along for the ride.

What a wingnut I am!!!, I posted the above first thing this morning and posted the wrong GII!!!

You are correct about N492JT - April 92 was the birth of John's late son Jett, and JT the his initials.

The donated GII-SP is N492JT serial number 82 (John has a Challenger now), the GII was delivered new Feb 1970 to Mid-Western Airlines as N711DP and sold to John March 1992.

Hopefully some kids will get on there and get the bug for aircraft. I am sure that is what he would like.
