Buffalo DC-6
Rumor that Buffalo has picked up a Swing-Tail DC-6 from Northern Air Cargo.
Re: Buffalo DC-6
Affirmative. It was in Yellowknife Friday for a couple hours before departing across the lake for Hay River. Still with the American registration. There's a few photos of it (and of course the Ice Pilots camera crew) at Buffalos yard floating around on Facebook.

Any idea how the rudder and elevator controls connect with this setup?

Buffalo have employed a few Mexicans to sit in the tail, the rampies run notes from the crew in the front back to the Mexicans, and bingo!

Actually, I have it on good authority that the Mexicans are NOT permitted to sit.
Possibly in the fall when things slow down and their usage percentage of old plastic milk crates drops a little, some might be re-purposed for the mexicans to use.

Mexicans on milk crates? They must've lowered their standards. I thought you'd need a CPL, Group 1 MIFR, 3000 hours, and pay Buffalo Joe for your training.

Re: Buffalo DC-6
That tailcone remind me of the diesel eight...
Coming to New York from Port au Prince, we had one day
a bunch of stowaways that pretended to be loaders in PaP and had hid in the tail.
Of course, once in New York, they skeedaddled away.
However, this was being January, they did not go far as they were all barefoot!
Hey! they cried, what is that slippery stuff on the ground? It hurt our feet like hell!
Well, we told them, that's the stuff you put in your whisky, it's called ICE!!!
"We want to go back home", they cried some more!
Well, tough shit, boys, we are heading for Dakar! You have to talk
to our freight agent! Eh, no custom or migra out there!
Well, you could join the Milton Blahyi(General Butt Naked)Militia in Liberia!

On a slightly related topic,,,,,, I recall two companies that wouldnt let me sit on a chair in the hangar, whilst doing wiring/ detailed work! Industry policy ? IDIOTS !!
