post pics

I wanted to post a pic in a forum, and I couldn't figure it out.

I know it involves the Img button.....

lol 185, nicely done. Beat me to it but i am going to say it anyway. Just to make sure you don't steal my grouchy old man job.

But as i am such a nice guy and beacon final is such a nice guy i will expand a bit on the FAQ, but only this once and just because it is in the Help forum.

You can only post pics which are already hosted somewhere else.

1. Fire up your favorite web browser and find the picture,
2. right click on the picture,
3. select View Image,
4. cut and paste the url into your message,
5. highlight the url,
6. press the Img button, and
7. VOILA
8. Then press Preview and make sure it worked.

Ok it worked and then I went back and it was just a small box with an x in it........

Also when I right click on the picture, I dont get the View Image option either..........

Still need help, I tried the FAQs, but no luck.....

BUT!! I just copied the url from the address bar and used that and it worked in the preview.

I may just have it!!!!

Ah yes. The immortal "Tennis girl scratching her bum" picture.

When you get the box with the x in it instead of the picture it is for one of three reasons:

1. You flamingoed up and your link does not point to anything.

2. The server you linked to did not respond in time (or is gone). Reloading or clicking view image on the box may clear this up.

3. Browser compatibility bug (Explorer vs Netscape).

I think there are other ways of posting pics you are forgetting to mention. For example, what if you don't have that box when you right-click a picture or it doesn't have anything saying View Image? My box says Open Link, Save Target as, Save Picture as, Email Picture, Go to my Pictures, Set as Background,set as desktop item,Print Picture,Copy, Copy Shortcut, Add to favorites, Properties... whew! which is it? If thats not the problem, can any pictures on www be posted? or is it gif file names only?

If you right click on the image and choose 'open in a new tab' you'll see it works fine. I suspect CBC just doesn't let you host their images from another website.

Thanks CpnCrunch... playing around a bit, I've noticed I get different results using different browsers as well.
