Are there airplane owners who leave their planes year round outside on the ramp at Springbank airport in Calgary. Has there been a lot of haildamage to airplanes during the last few years.

The last time I can remember there being any hail damage in YBW was in 2006, but I may be wrong.

Its always a risk. YBW is halfway between the Bow and Elbow rivers which are great sources of moisture for summer Cb's. Often they go by either side but they can just as easily go right down the middle. 3 summers ago I was in a greenhouse on the airfield (Peter the Plant Man) when a rather large hail storm went through. Loudest noise I've ever heard...hail on glass! The U of C greenhouse got completely destroyed by it later that day. I'd be surprised if nobody's plane got dented. The good news is that Weather Mod always gets to the cells before they come but that doesn't always make the difference.
