So I just received my new GARMIN GLO for aviation GPS reciever. I plan on using it via bluetooth with my IPAD mini as a backup GPS in the plane.

When I purchased I didnt realize that the software (APP) that pairs with the receiver is only available on the US Itunes store.
The APP that pairs with the GPS unit is called GARMIN PILOT and costs about $60 a year subscription.
So in doing a little research I learned I now need to open a US itunes account (with no credit card) and purchase a US itunes gift card. Then I log in to the US itunes purchase the app and the unit should run.
So my questions..
Has anyone used the unit before? In Canada/US? Also is there an easier way to activate? and or another APP that will work with the unit?
Thanks for your time
Cheers

So in response to my own question..lol
Did more research and found out FOREFLIGHT in the canadian app store pairs up with the garmin glo.
Tried it already and it works great.
Anyone looking for cheap aviation grade GPS for IPAD , Bobs your uncle.

Works great with Air Nav pro/standard

Worth noting that even if you get Garmin Pilot installed, there aren't any Canadian charts.
Fore flight is great if you don't mind paying $160/yr for it. I went with Air Navigation Pro for a $50 one-time payment.
