I'd suggest that he check out the exam software on line such as that
at Harv's air in Manitoba rather than the written text books
that seem to be more limited in resources.

Sharper Edge Commercial Pilot Prep book is usually something I would recommend.
CAR 421.14(3)(b):in the case of an applicant for a Commercial Pilot Licence, who is not enrolled in an approved integrated course, proof of having successfully completed the required written examination, and a letter from a flight instructor certifying that the applicant has satisfactory knowledge of the subject area or areas in which a deficiency was indicated by the feedback letter issued by the Flight Training and Aviation Examination (FTAE) computer system and meets the competency standard for issuance of the Commercial Pilot Licence.
I would also spend some time with your Flight Instructor to go over all of the weak knowledge areas like this CAR says.

Good luck.

Ask your school if they have practice exams and keep at them until test day. If you are unsure of what they are asking for in a question don't be afraid to ask for clarification. Maybe sit in on ground school if you have the opportunity. Goodluck with your next attempt.

Leo, just a question if I may ask-
What did your instructor have you do to earn your written test recommend? Did your instructor make sure that you performed well on practice tests?

well,I got my letter from harvsair,I know ADF,NDB,VOR is my weakness and I did spent lot of time on there.. apparently I didn't spend enough.

when I did my CPL writtem I actually though it was pretty easy because I got the anwnser right the way without any doubt. lol

it's good idea for me to keeping studying the NAV part, and take my school's exam hope next try I could do better.

Keep your comments on topic, please.

Keep at it, Leo. I can't think of anyone who finds the English in those exams easy.

The Aerocourse books always worked well for me, I would recommend them over others. The good thing now is you know what to expect and can focus solely on the NAV sections for the next two weeks. Don't beat yourself up over the failure learn and move on this is flying we all screw up now and then its how we bounce back from it that counts.

"failed" has a letter "E" right at the end of it, right before the "D". I'm not sure if this is on the commercial pilot exams but it doesn't hurt to know, in any case. I'm assuming they still aren't allowing examination answers via text-message.
