YYZ - GTAA Viscount Road Parking Lot Question

Post by unregistered »

Hi all,

Quick question for YYZ based folks (that use the Viscount lot).

Does the staff parking lot entry system read licence plates on the way in? I see a machine there that looks like it's reading plates.

Not planning anything untoward, but I may have to borrow someone's car to go to work, and I want to be sure I can get in with just my card if I'm in a different car. Has anyone else tried that?

Also ... what's with the sign board that tells you how many spots are available on each level ... does it just generate random numbers or something?

;)

Thanks, in advance, for any input.

Cheers!

No tracking of individual license plates to my knowledge. I have parked (long term) an unregistered car recently with no issue. I believe the numbers/level you see on entry include public parking spots.

Old info here but from 2010-2012 I regularly parked many different cars there with licence plates the YYZ Authority had no info on. I believe those are video cameras but the aren't using the them to record or read plates. Even when I forgot my pass they didn't question the plates.
