Looks like a good way to say goodbye.

Who's in the pics?

Finger (right) formation. T-6 in lead, flown by Satan.
Gary Ward #2 on left in MX2. Me in Pitts #3 on right.
Bill Gordon in modified Christen Eagle #4. Did the
"missing man" flight for the burial at sea. Pulled up
and flew west. I think I did it right.

Last photo is Freddy starting the Beech 18. He's second
from right in the red/white four Pitts gas pump photo.

Pretty good pictures.
Who's beside Fred in the gas pump picture and is the Stars and Stripes plane Fred's?

The "Stars & Stripes" S-2B is Bob's - standing
next to Fred at the pumps.

Fred's last S-2C was the yellow/black in the
photos above.

Before that, he had a red/white S-2C, parked
here at the front of my hangar:

Fred had a phenomenal amount of Waco and
Pitts time. Not too many people will ever log
tens of thousands of hours of biplane time,
especially in the future.

I've seen him buzz by a few times when I was down there, I kick myself for not driving to the airport and saying hello. Or least buying a ride with someone who can fly better than me.

Nice tribute to a fascinating life.

"now they make you fly 20 hours with all that crap you gotta go through"
"People come to Key West for four things..."

I like him. I really like him.
I'm guessing it was a national week of mourning in the Conch Republic.
