Aerocourse ATPL and Taxes
Hi all, I did the Aerocourse ATPL seminar this year and I'm wondering about how to use this as a write off in my taxes. I didn't get any sort of official tax receipt from them, just the purchase receipt for the course and books. Anyone good with taxes and know how to claim the expense? And if it is just the course fee, or do the books for the course count as well.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Aerocourse ATPL and Taxes
I emailed them last week, here is what I got:
We do not issue T2202A or TL11B forms as any exam prep courses such as the Aero Course IFR or ATPL seminar does not qualify for tax exemptions
You can claim a part-time education amount if you were enrolled in a specified educational program. Such a program lasts at least three consecutive weeks and requires
a minimum of 12 hours of instruction or work each month on courses in the program.

Re: Aerocourse ATPL and Taxes
Though if your company where to require you to take the course at your own expense and issue you a T2202 I think you could write it off as a work expense the same way you would write off say a new head set or a medical.
Cheers,

You can also claim the HST back on it. There's another forum on here as to what forms you have to fill out.

Any employer should not have a problem reimbursing any expenses incurred for travel, time and course expenses.
How do you go 205 kts TAS on 32 gal/hr without turbos!
