LEAVENS CLOSED UP?
I have researched the archives in here and can't find any mention of this.
The scuttlebutt around here is, Leavens Brothers Aviation has closed up, or is almost closed.
Apparently, the Brampton Flying Club has purchased the entire Engine Overhaul Shop.
The majority of the inventory in Toronto was sold at an auction, which a lot of people did not know was happening.
This is a crying shame. Leavens have been around since before the war.
I feel like I've lost an old friend.
Can anybody else provide more information?
How about somebody who is connected with Leavens so we can get the facts straight?

Re: LEAVENS CLOSED UP?
Well, I'm not connected to them but our company has used their Calgary branch primarily for parts for many years. About a year or two ago they significantly downsized their Calgary operation, leaving me to either deal with Toronto or other suppliers.
They started clearing out inventory a couple months ago (I am in BC and on their mailing list, not sure how anybody in the GTA in aviation could miss it). Really good deals, but they are down to miscellaneous hardware now it seems.
It is a shame. What was it, 1927 when they started?

Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?
Re: LEAVENS CLOSED UP?
It's no secret. I emailed last month for some parts availability and had a reply from Lea-Anne Leavens to say they were not maintaining stocks because they were "in the process of liquidating our business."
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.

Re: LEAVENS CLOSED UP?
I would suggest that you try to locate Heather Leavens.
She was the last family member running the business when it close shop.
Dont have contact info but I think she lives in the greater Toronto area

Last time I drove by it looked like their building is now an East Indian furniture store.
