That is pretty classic JungianJugular. "Sorry Mr Nenshi, you're out of uniform."

Unfortunately the moderators did not find the humour. It was shameful to Canada!

Well, they probably don't want to hear from the Ufly guy.

However..........when the company was making money from CNN for the use of the simulator everything was fine and then the next thing this guy gets fired for dress code violation.
The first day CNN arrived that instructor should have been sat down in the office and told what the dress code was going to be and if he did not wish to follow that code then they would have had to have found another instructor to due the CNN coverage. I blame the company 100% for this not the instructor but he really should have looked a bit more presentable on TV in my opinion.

Is it really that hard to dress appropriately when the situation warrants it? He's not at home playing flightsim, sitting in a cubicle coding, or loading freight on the ramp. He doesn't need to wear a suit and tie, but it can't be hard to put on a pair of dress slacks and a dress shirt knowing you are on tv everyday for a major news event.

Have you seen what most people wear on their commercial airline flights these days? Anything other than tattered, grey sweatpants would be nice. For the record, I'm no Ralph Lauren either, but this instructor isn't the only one who can't dress in public.airspeed250 wrote:Is it really that hard to dress appropriately when the situation warrants it?

it really grinds my gears when passengers dress in their sweat pants or pyjamas for their flights. Number 1 pet peeve. Throw on a pair of jeans and do yourself a favour, anything but pyjamas or sweat pants. At least look presentable, is that hard to ask?

So the company is ok letting the guy go on TV out of "uniform" for weeks, then firing him? Seems wrong to me.

Yes, they are allowed to because they are the customer.
The issue is not about dress codes in public- it is how you show up for work. Even though the public on the airplane may look slovenly, the people who are serving them must meet certain dress standards.
Do we need to further discuss the difference?

CNN will hire him to join their exceptionally talented aviation round table group.
