Beech 17
Here is Beech C-17R serial # 113 at Edmonton C1940 in service with Mackenzie Air Service. It was known as Brintnell's Bastard Beech. Leigh Brintnell was the president of Mackenzie Air Service. The letters "WT" in the top of the vertical stab area stood for "Wireless Telegraphy". BBB met is demise in 1955 at Windego PQ.

Here is a color shot of BBB. Date and location unknown but probably in the 1940's and possibly along the Mackenzie River.

Very nice! I just finished a 1:48 scale model of CF-BJD which is undergoing final assembly at Langley, BC. Can't post a pic of it due to Microcrap IEx 11

Interesting. I looked at BJD about 10-12 years ago when it was in a shop at Kemptville Ont. That airplane has a lot of history.
Re: Beech 17
I am looking to find some more information on what happened to this airframe. There is a CF-BKQ D17S currently. However this is serial # 4849 which took over the registration in 1987. The last mention of serial 227 SE17B shows it in Red Lake. Any Information would be appreciated on the story of this aircraft and what happened to it.

Re: Beech 17
I talked to some old timers from Red Lake back in the 1970's about this aircraft. I am pretty sure that whatever wasn't useable was scrapped. Sorry I can't be more encouraging.

Thats alright, I was curious about the story of the aircraft and how it met its demise. It has or had an Interesting history being bought new by the Eaton Family.
