Ads B via Stratus 2.
Just wondering if anyone's used this, and do you recieve any data across the border say in the GTA area. Looks like a great product, pairs with Foreflight.
Re: Ads B via Stratus 2.
I have used the Stratus 1 when my aircraft was based in Grimsby ON. You cannot get CDN weather from airports with Stratus. However, It does report Environment Canada weather. I was able to pick up winds, altimeter, and ceiling info for Vineland, ON (8 Miles from Grimsby) and Burlington Piers while in the air.
It was helpful. Too bad Nav Canada could not get on board with ADS-B weather in Canada

Re: Ads B via Stratus 2.
I just picked up a Stratus 2. From Windsor to London at 5500' and back at 4500' I had full coverage of US weather and traffic. It showed all the little popcorn clouds floating around at 6000' and above. I have a few XCs planned for this summer to test it further.

You're not going to get much traffic unless you have ADS-B Out as well. All you will get are pings from Mode S aircraft, but most of those will have you on their TCAS anyway (because it's mostly airlines that have Mode S today). You might also get uplinked traffic from an FAA ADS-B transmitter if there is an ADS-B Out aircraft within 15nm of your position and 3500ft vertically and you're within range of the station.

Here is a screen shot of me down in Arizona last year. I do not have an ADS-B out transponder yet and still picked up all this traffic.
