New license booklet

Post by ehbuddy »

Hi Members

I rcvd my new license booklet today in the mail and the Expiry date is Aug 01 2014 which is the same date as my old one.

So when you get yours in the mail please double check to see if the same mistake was not also made on your dates.

Also, I submitted a new photo with my application and the new booklet has my old photo in it. Is this the way its supposed to be?

Opps.... That sucks

If you haven't advised Transport yet let them know and they will print you a temporary licence that you can use while you are waiting for a new, new licence.

That's unfortunate! One thing to watch for with the renewal (not suggesting this was the case in this instance, may well have been on the TC side), is that there are two different sets of forms... One is for reissue of a licence booklet - ie, if it goes through the wash and needs to be replaced. There is a $35 fee for this as I recall - same dates and picture as the original.

The other form is to replace an expiring booklet - can only be done within a fairly short window before the expiry, and this issues a new booklet with new date and picture.

This is the link I used for my renewal application.

Is your Aviation Document Booklet (ADB) expiring?
Transport Canada Civil Aviation regional offices will be accepting applications for ADB renewal 90 days prior to the 5 year expiry date – the date is found on the Personal Data page of the ADB. Holders should submit the "Application for an Aviation Document Booklet" form no later than 90 days prior to the expiry date of the current ADB to ensure receipt of the new booklet before the current ADB expires.
