Sad news.
I worked with this gentleman at a previous company. He was a true gentleman and a great instructor. I did my very first flight in a 757 with him. He was a pleasure to work with and had a very gentle nature about him. He enjoyed life and work. He was a true professional and took pride in his flying.
Very sad day.

I flew with this gentleman in the Air force...he was my boss on the 707. Also flew with him at C3 when he joined us on the 757. A true gentleman as "old fart " stated. A real tragedy. Sincere condolences to his family.

Sad.

I've had a few 20,000 + hours mentor/friend pilots die in their aircraft. That scares the crap out of me, as I'm only a third the way there! If they can still die in a plane after 20,000 hours, I'm rather concerned about all the rest of us "low timers"!

A very sad day in Canadian aviation. Also flew with John in the 757, both on the line, and in the sim. Fantastic gentleman. Always brightened my day to know he'd be the instructor or examiner.

I remember all the conversations we had about that Skybolt when he was building it, so sorry to hear it ended this way.

It was a huge pleasure working with John. A gentle and humorous man with a disarming nature who was a skilled instructor and professional pilot. I am grateful to have spent many hours along side him and am the better for it. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to his wife and son.

Very sad day. John was rightfully proud of his Skybolt. The workmanship in the build was first rate and it flew beautifully.
