Need some info please.

Post by Senaphone »

G'day all

My wife is a Canadian, she really misses home wants to come back, however I am an Australian, working in S.EASIA. With a very reputable company. Have experience on Airbus and Boeing total time just under 6000hrs

Would really appreciate some info and direction regarding converting my ATPL into Canadian. Apart from 3 exams? Do I need to sit for a flight test? Do I need to do my cpl? And MEIR as well?

Been going thru a lot of forum regarding job prospect in Canada, still not been able to get a proper picture for job prospect. What ever info is there seem to around 3 to 4 yrs old.
Any help or info greatly appreciated.

I would suggest moving this question to the flight training forum. The employment forum tends to be more "What is this operator like to work for?" and not as technically oriented as far as licensing questions.

Mesa, I would also suggest changing the subject of your thread to more specifically target the answer you are looking for, like "Converting Australian ATPL to Canadian ATPL?" This is probably a question a class 1 Canadian instructor would be happy to answer, and I would venture to guess that class 1 instructors would probably frequent the "Flight Training" and "General" forums more than the employment forum (unless they were looking for info on another company to work for).

Best of luck!

Career wise, you will NOT have any trouble in converting your licence, and
the process is relatively easy. The hardest exam is the INRAT and you can
do that on line and test yourself with the online study.

The other exams and requirements will be easy for you.
Your first medical is a bit extra by way of exrays,
your log book gets looked at, and last few pages scanned in
which might help you in the future if your log book goes missing.

You won't have a problem getting a job and your decision to to Canada
is one you need to think about very carefully.
