Aviation: Report 'will be a horror show'
TORONTO -- Air Canada's board of directors met yesterday to review the airline's updated business plan and examine the wreckage of its 2003 financial statements. The airline is expected to report a whopping loss for the year when it publicly files the financial report later this week, after being hammered by higher fuel costs, SARS and increasing competition. "The only question is whether or not it's in the high hundreds of millions or whether it's over a billion," said Douglas Reid, a business professor at Queen's University. "It will be a horror show," he added.
