I understand there is a lot of anger in the Alberta aviation community over the latest goings on in and around Edmonton like the closure of the Edmonton City Centre Airport, the move of medevacs to YEG, the development of a new airport in Parkland County, and the end of the Government of Alberta's Air Transportation Services Fleet and the termination of employment of crews of pilots and mechanics and other employees.

Former Edmonton Mayor Stephen Mandel is running in a by-election in Edmonton-Whitemud. He has been invovled in these decisions.

There is a way to express your anger, and maybe, just maybe, deny Mandel a seat in the Legislature and make him lose his job as Health Minister.

You can volunteer for an opposition candidate or make a donation. If you live in Edmonton-Whitemud, you can even get a lawn sign and vote!

LOL. He was chosen to be health minister and he was picked to take the seat in the legislature. Its cute you think you have the power to decide the course of your future or pick your leaders through democracy, but he was appointed, the election is just a farce.

Thats the first thing. The second thing is that IF there was anyone worse than Mandel and the like, its the Wildrose Party. Sometimes Im glad they do your thinking for you because living under an autocratic system is preferable to the extremists you will vote in.

I don't understand Alberta. I haven't seen anything in the media about that ^ nor have I heard anything reported as to any of the challengers bringing it up in the campaign.

Perhaps it's true - as long as the oil flows and they can afford shiny new trucks, Albertans don't really give a damn.

I think the better question is how Mandel is able to hold this position and not be in conflict of interest (or even corrupted) from his many business dealings with the Katz Group (Rexall and all the backend companies for that).

Mandel getting this position as the kickback from Katz Group huge donations to PC Party including voting presence in the party... That could have achieved a "Landslide" win.... Time to return the favour!
