Re: Planes in songs
The G4 seems to be mentioned in a lot of rap songs.. Its also in at least these two.
'Lean Back' - Terror squad 'Now we livin' better now, Gucci sweater now, And that G4 could fly through, any weather now'
'Hustlin' - Rick Ross w/jay-z also NSFW and I think he mentions it twice.. white on white.

Re: Planes in songs
I guess it doesn't count as being in the song itself, but the A340 and A320 appear in the music video for Celine Dion's - You and I... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-svA2ca6FYahramin wrote:What ... no Airbus?

Re: Planes in songs
Say what you want about rap music.... but they be representin' fo tha songs with planes in that sh!t....
Ja Rule -- Mesmerize. "Flyin' abroad in my private G-2.."
I remember hearing that in 2002... thinking... man, either he doesn't know what a G-2 is... or he's got the oldest, loudest, and thirstiest private jet out there.....

They're not the greatest but I've had a few.Illya Kuryakin wrote:Had a '67 BGT. Total crap.....but I wish I still had it7ECA wrote:MG, being the British car manufacturer. I always did like the looks of the MGB GT.
Apparently they were somewhat foul cars though...

They look awesome because the coupe was a pininfarina design... a house that has had 1 or 2 good designs

Re: Planes in songs
Best line in any song is.....
Revvin' up my engine(s) Baby, like a 747 runnin' shiny, lanky, long, and lean. What a scene.
Maybe someday .

AC/DC - Ain't No Fun Waitin' Around To Be A Millionaire.
Bon utters the fantastic line: "Hello Howard, how you doin', my next door neighbour? Oh yeah... Get your f*****' jumbo jet off my airport"
Also, Neil Young - Let's Roll was written about the events aboard United 93 on 9/11.

Re: Planes in songs
L.A. International airport. Susanne Ray. B707 or B747 in the re-released version
Re: Planes in songs
(Hey nice one; had never listened to that Susanne R one before. ... Also, the early 1964 Lightfoot version of 'In the early morning rain' from "Peter Paul and Mary" is great .. IMO; there's also Elvis who tried it, and a number of others.)
Should by now be enough material here at Av Canada on the subject. What instruments does that require ... lets see .. mix it up a bit ... anyone got a Banjo, twelve-string, .. drums ? I'll bet they'd permit you to record it at the brand new International Airport Terminal right here in our good Olde Towne of Niagara-on-the-Lake / at CYSN.
Seriously, when lyric ing up to produce an aviation song, part of it's success will be including everyone ... ie: was prayin the AME had tuned er up good .... was glad the weather volks had their Tims. Then for a second or a third verse ... the airport manager himself was fightin the wheel of the '52 snowplow at every drift (with a little extra of some timely drawling in there) ...
Hard to say how receptive the public would be for yet more AV-entertainment though ...
There's that movie out with the jet engine on the sleigh ... maybe there's a song in there someplace.
Anyway, it's that time of year again ... Merry Christmas everyone !
I believe there may be something here: ... groundspeed was goin higher than ma airspeed ... dah dah .. dum di dah .. with the runway lights still behind the cloud .. ooh ahh .. oh yeah .. ... recorded to rythmic blues ?Changes in Latitudes wrote:Variable Tailwinds by Bean Medley Crew Meal

Considering this is a Canadian forum and all, I'm surprised no one else remembered this one:

But then it's probably just the 80's geek in me coming out again

Re: Planes in songs
And there's also a couple classics - "Travellin Man" (Ricky Nelson), and "Come Fly with Me" (Frank Sinatra).
If aerospace can be considered aviation, there's also "Countdown" (Rush), and "Rocket Man" (Elton John)... there's that 80's geek again.

Canmore, AB?
There are two Major Tom songs if we get to include space flight.

Re: Planes in songs
An airplane is not mentioned, but one of my favorites nonetheless...
Sky Pilot - Eric Burdon and The Animals
Many people mistake Treetop Flyer as being Jimmy Buffet's. The song belongs to Stephen Stills.
