:) to late for a reply but they'd use 5/23 - looks like they arrived shortly after 7am,
should be on the ground for at least 7 hours.

Thats pretty frickin impressive! I don't care how many ground up Lada's were used during the construction. Truly a spectacle!

I was doing some work at Warplane Heritage in Hamilton a few years back, on a nice summer day. All the doors were open, and I could hear a jet taxiing in. A crowd was gathering to watch. I asked my host what the attraction was. He said, "probably the Antonov again.". Sure enough, in it was coming. I asked my host, Where does he turn that around? My host paused, and then said you'd better go and grab your plane fast! I charged out, jumped the barricade, and made it just in time to unchock it, turn it toward the impending jet blast, rechock it, and hold the prop for dear life.

The Antonov pilot powered around a pivot turn. I did not see a thing, but got lots of FOD blasted at the back of my head. Airmanship? Not so much.....

Perhaps not, it did not have that twin tail arrangement. The fuselage and all those main wheels looked about the same though....

There are five civilian An-124 operators in the world: Antonov Airlines (from Ukraine), Volga-Dnepr and Polet Airlines (both from Russia), Maximus Air Cargo (from the UAE) and Libyan Arab Airlines (from Libya), operating 26 An-124s, plus that one-of An-225 Operated by Antonov Airlines.

I was once blasted in my Beech 18 by an American Airlines B-767 making a U-turn on the ramp in Port-au-Prince Haiti. Airmanship ? Not so much......

Saw that behemoth at the YXX Airshow back in the late 80s and then again in YYR a couple years ago.

Truly amazing seeing it claw into the air every time!

Was lucky enough to have a sunny day and a camera for its YYR visit.
