Sunwing Seniority Scandal?

Post by carson »

Does anyone know what is going on at Sunwing, with the ups and downs of their messed up Seniority list?
Rumor has it they tried to force through an agenda that protected some but not all the pilots..
Messy business over there...
I'm guessing things are done a little different at Sunpac or CAW or whatever that boys club is called!!!!

why on earth would you copy-and-paste a company memo onto the public forum?

It's getting harder to keep up, the ops site getting cluttered with all kinds of memos.
Thanks,

Interesting. Someone who actually respects and cares about the company who pays their bills.

I believe the Seniority Committee failed to fairly represent the Pilot group.

As i have no other options but to post here, as i have been forced out of our own forum and i am not permitted to email FCM's through the server, i can say that it has been a tough time..

I believe the MEC has lost the path, and the Pilot group is in disaray..

So sad to see such a disfunctional group...

Not sure what the kerfuffle is about. SW has lots of growth ahead of it, so people should be happy instead of rocking the boat.

Mark,
I sympathize with your position and understand you, but I strongly believe that with new guys in charge things will improve significantly.
Are you gonna fix the wrongs towards you by taking it to avcanada?
I don't believe it's the right place to voice your opinion.
Most posters here just looking for a chance to bash our company and drag it through mud.
Please, think about it again.

Despite your numerous posts about me bashing Sunwing, wanting Sunwings' demise etc, I'm not one of them. Everything I ever posted or commented about Sunwing (and I dare you to show otherwise) concerned Sunwing's use of Foreign crews.......
I am not concerned with other Sunwing issues. Of course I monitor everything, just in case something related to foreign pilots surfaces......

I think that Transat is better off with a competitor that has well paid, unionised employees with good working conditions than with constantly having to deal with new startups with extremely low cost, low wage, low working condition employees. If Sunwing was to vanish tomorrow, it would instantly be replaced by another such company. We are better off with a Sunwing that has many well paid full time Canadian employees with great benefits and a large full time fleet of aircraft.
Only like this can we compete equally as equals........

When someone is slapped around.
When someone can not voice his/her opinion internally within the forum intended for that purpose..
What is one to do??

Please enlighten me....nobody cares about anybody in this industry until that person is affected...

How do you screw up a seniority list ? Is it by date of hire or not ?

Really, so what does this post have to do with Foreigners? Where were you going with these series of quotes?

CMD-A is giving his point of view which he's entitled. He's allowed to write about what he sees and reads whether you like it or not. You do the exact same thing. Don't take offence...accept it. He doesn't agree with people posting internal policies, memo's etc and I think most people on here would agree with it also. As an employee of a company you are obligated to respect confidentiality. He may not agree with everything that happens within his company but from I've read of his posts he believes it should be taken care of internally not on public forums.

Rollyrules,

Did you try contacting your MEC or forum moderators by phone? email? Would have seemed like a logical step.

The reason why i choose to (carefully) post here is due to the nature of our MEC..

Hiding the truth, not allowing FCM's to speak freely..

I am censored.
I am not allowed to post on our internal forum.
(they might say moderated...i say BS)(posts do not materialize)
I am not allowed to email members.

Their intent i believe is to hide their agenda.
Their intent i believe is to stop individual concerns/ complaints from becoming public.

Many FCM's have submitted complaints (i believe) but Unifor/MEC have sat on these issues at protect themselves.. And ensure the wrongs have not been righted...

And YES!!! Of course i tried to communicate with the MEC...

And NO!!! Date of hire was deliberately not offered in the vote along with other options that was silenced. Options that were suggested by the FCM's at large, in a survey..
