"buzzed" by Conquest II
Ok, Laurie and I are retired but as we are sailing from Barbuda to Antigua with my daughter visiting we are buzzed by a Conquest II. Not once but three passes. The guy in the right seat has red hair but I could not quite see the color of his eyes...

Hope you had fun and are not working for YQT in your spare time.
I was hoping to be buzzed by an F18 or something more exotic...

If you look up the reg, you'll see it's owned by French Customs. I guess they were checking you out to see if you seemed suspicious

Re: "buzzed" by Conquest II
You were buzzed by a C 406 which is basically a turbine 404 Titan built by Reims in France. There are several European Government agencies that use that aircraft for various police/Coast Guard functions. My guess you were being looked over as part of a routine anti drug surveillance effort.
edit: I see Captcrunch beat me to it...

Re: "buzzed" by Conquest II
You are right. It wasn't a II but PT6 powered(a I ?) but it did sound like a TPE331. There were several folks on board and we had seen this aircraft flying into Barbuda over the previous few days.
One other thing, Antigua and Barbuda is British. We left French St. Martin a few days ago and no fly byes.
Back to my Mu-2...

REIMS F406 Vigilant Caravan (You can see the F406 - 0042 vaguely on the tail in one photo)
Re: "buzzed" by Conquest II
Yes, not a Conquest at all. I am starting to remember the twin caravan. I guess that is why I retired...
Anyhow, we were in British territory but maybe they look after each other. Hell, we were heading back to Antigua because we ran OUT of beer!

Square windows, PT6 exhaust stacks, that makes it a 406. Radar pod on the bottom, that makes it Customs or Maritime Patrol of some sort.
Re: "buzzed" by Conquest II
You guys are a long way from YTZ, YOW and Air Muskoka days. Laurie gave me your web site and have followed you on your journey. Good to hear that your adventure is going so well. All the best to you both.

What kind of boat are you sailing there, Bob?

Wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then.

Hi Bryan! Hope you are doing well!..
Illya: it is an Outbound 46. Have had it for 9 years now on Superior and Huron. Have salt all over it now though....
We are heading back to Barbuda at the end of the month. We'll see if this guy is around again.

Forget that French modified Titan powered by turbines, I'm more interested in the two lovely women in the string bikinis!
