Getting an airline job when flying the PC12

Post by garfield »

hi everybody,

i'm wondering if you're on the PC12, you have a lot of MPIC IFR time and your class 1 IFR have expired since 1 year could you be hired by an airline or you have to renew your group 1 every 2 years at your own cost?

If the airline gives you a TR and a PPC does it count to renew an expired group 1 IFR?

Yes, as long as you remind them to check the box for your group 1.

I did this - and also got hired when my ATPL had technically lapsed as well because of only holding the group III. Thus the PPC automatically renewed both the group I and ATPL. So long as you held the group I and ATPL in the past and are actively flying IFR I think that's all that matters.

If you would get two job offers that are exactly the same with the same conditions, but one is on the PC12 and the other one, on an BE10 or BE20, what would you prefer and which one will let you move up the ladder faster?

I know many guys that moved from the King Air to Boeings and Airbus, but can you do the same if all of your experience is only on the PC12?
