Small companies that pay over $100k
Some people are a bit disappointed that the doors to AC and WJ are closing in favour of their regional pilots. My position is that there are many 703 companies that pay well and afford a good lifestyle that not getting to fly the heavy iron is not really a big deal.
Does anyone want to list 703/704 companies where a pilot can earn over $100k/yr. Perhaps add some tidbits about lifestyle.

TWA Saab 340`s top out about 90K (plus per diems)...16 days on a month, home every night. Good gig.
There are several Bearskin pilots making low 6 figures on the Metros and many other similiar size and scope companies that come close to the 6 figure salary once you make it to their "big" tin.
Fly safe all.

They fly to the same airports the 704 machines fly to, just on a different pairing structure... There is very little difference between the two jobs, one would argue its easier with a flight attendantiflyforpie wrote:Aren't 328s and 340s both 705 machines?
Re: Small companies that pay over $100k
703-704 : good average could be 60-85k for 1900, KA, pilatus jobs.
I have never heard of 100k for 703, except maybe for CPs positions.
Once the new NPA (duties) will go through with TC, it will allow pilots to have a more decent lifestyle.
Honestly, if you like flying and get daily challenges, best fun is definitely in 703-704. Many still fly with no autopilots.

AirSprint has a number of pilots making over $100k. Fair share/equity PBS for schedule. Link below for more info (per diems are now $3/hr)...Bede wrote:Some people are a bit disappointed that the doors to AC and WJ are closing in favour of their regional pilots. There are people at Conair that make over 100 g's
Re: Small companies that pay over $100k
1.10 - 1.50 per acre to dust crops. The math make 100k a season possible.
Re: Small companies that pay over $100k
IIRC there were some DHC6 skippersmaking close to 6 figures. Albeit thats rotational and not for the weak of back.
Are there some at Sunwest flying the jets that close that gap?

If you're also looking for 604 and 702 I suspect there are quite a few that do north of 100k.

Indeed. There are also DHC6 skippers making in excess of 6 figures at non rotational gigs as well. Anyone with the skill and experience to operate that machine to the full extent of its capabilities (ie: floats, skis, off strip ) deserves it too.Rowdy wrote:IIRC there were some DHC6 skippersmaking close to 6 figures. Re: Small companies that pay over $100k
The good corporate gigs pay very well too... $100K to over $200K.
Re: Small companies that pay over $100k
Perimeter Metro can be over 100k easily with some years in or medevac's
Re: Small companies that pay over $100k
Tops out higher than that when you incorporate training captain pay. A 705 captain at CMA will make over 100k/yr after 8 years. Or if you come in with good amounts of mpic and total time, then the powers-of-be will offer you the same type salary as an 8 year pilot if you negotiate itPositiveRate27 wrote:CMA's Dornier tops out at 95K.... Work 18 days, paid for 19. So unless you accept a call on a day off, you have 12 GDO's. Not obligated to come in on the 19th day to work if called on a day off, but if you do, don't expect to get your day off back.
I believe the 705 fleet goes CYYC-CYXS-CYXT return on a day trip as well as CYYC-CYEG-CYXJ-CYYE-CYXS-CYVR overnights, return the next day type of flying. Plus any charters they get.
Standard 2 week vacation until year 3. Professional crews. Good SOP's.
I enjoyed my time there and would do it all over again. Some of the most fun I've had flying 705 turboprops tbh.

With 100 being a good F.O. salary.Jet Jockey wrote:The good corporate gigs pay very well too... $100K to over $200K.
My last position paid 170k base salary with a target annual bonus of 37%, stock options and restricted share units providing a total compensation package north of 300k.
The company F.O's were all north of 100 bases but had a lower target bonus, no stock options but they did receive RSU's.
Their TCP's came in at 120 to 150k.
If you want to make that kind of money, get into a good 604 job. The management companies are a great start but they can only compete financially with crew salaries and margins. You know who takes the hit there.
Re: Small companies that pay over $100k
This would be with who??? With numbers like that give the name, otherwise, my current employer pays me 350K and I only work 7 days a month.Jasper wrote:With 100 being a good F.O. salary.Jet Jockey wrote:The good corporate gigs pay very well too... $100K to over $200K.

Re: Small companies that pay over $100k
I heard ORNGE can pay a little over $100k on a PC12 for Captains. Plus benefits and such. I know a few guys making a career of it there in Northern Ontario. Plus cost of living isn't as high at ORNGE bases for the fixed wing side.
Re: Small companies that pay over $100k
The numbers for several Canadian corporations are available through a number of benchmarking companies. Of course, you have to be a participant to get a copy. Get your boss to participate in a Towers Perrin survey.flyinhigh wrote:This would be with who??? How about Atco, Syncrude, Irving, Onni, Enbridge. Anyone pay more then those guys in total compensation?

Don't know about "more", but the shaw guys make in the neighbourhood of 180k. Irving oil is about the same. Futura corp in YVR also pays north of 160k. Telus would also be similar, I expect.SgtStroka wrote:How about Atco, Syncrude, Irving, Onni, Enbridge. Anyone pay more then those guys in total compensation?
On the charter side, jet captains at London Air, Skyservice, Sunwest, and many others in YYZ and YUL make over 100K. Sor smaller jets 100 k would be top end, but for heavier iron like challengers and Falcons, 120k would be minimum as a charter pilot.
Aurora also pays ok...chally 300 capt starts right around 100K. The heavier iron would obviously pay more.

Re: Small companies that pay over $100k
What about the RCMP. Heard their compensation package is quite good. Anyone care to comment?
Re: Small companies that pay over $100k
I've heard the RCMP pay the same as Transport Canada inspectors. That said I'd be curious the life style, time away from home, days worked per month etc. Anyone care to comment on those?

Re: Small companies that pay over $100k
Lots of corporate gigs that are over 100. Stop by Skyservice. See a Global or a Gulfstream on the ramp. Guys are doing well. Even the challenger guys are making 120-150.
