Skier Hit By Plane
Good judgment comes from experience. Experience often comes from bad judgment.
Re: Skier Hit By Plane
At some French resorts, you can get a dual flight on aircraft like this. I did it at Meribel.

Don't be condescending on something you don't knowcncpc wrote:What kind of airplane is that?
It's a Jodel, a very popular (and good) little aircraft in France.

And it's a tail wheel....
Re: Skier Hit By Plane
You can do such flights at Meribel, Courcheval and Megeve. All three are paved, one way in-one way out runways.
The airplane is a Jodel Mousqetaire. Low wing, taildraggers with near stol performance. They put them on wheel skis in the winter. Megeve is close to Geneva, about an hour away. You can book a flight in a Mousqetaire to Mont Blanc and land on the mountain.
There are several altiports in France. Fun flying.

Jodel- brings back memories. learned to fly in a Jodel Dr112 .. Grass strip tail dragger. Fun!
Re: Skier Hit By Plane
I did the Jodel flight on a ski vacation to Meribel, the biggest ski resort area in the world when the 4 main areas are combined. 3 altiports at this complex. It is an amazing experience of mountain flying and landing on probably the steepest slope of a runway you have ever seen. Huge upslope illusion on final, and they will let you land, if the policy is still the same.bmc wrote:You can do such flights at Meribel, Courcheval and Megeve. Same here,, First plane I owned was a Jodel D11-7 Cont. C90 It was a 1963 model C-FRES and was the actual plane featured in Janes aircraft publication. You never forget your first plane and your first F __k

Man, I must be getting old - I can't remember my first firetruck.
Being stupid around airplanes is a capital offence and nature is a hanging judge!
