With their charter rates and a continuously renewed fleet, it can't be a money making venture, merely a tax advantage to the parent company. There is value in the aircraft, the hangar and the 704, just not in the combination of all.

I am under the impression that they are just selling off the charter end, and will keep a small assortment for private use.

That's all I know.

It's still undetermined. But either way 20 some odd pilots will not be retained to fly one 605 even if they do keep it. Best outcome is if someone like aurora or skyservice swoops in and buys a majority of the assets and wants to operate charter out of of YVR. Then most will keep their jobs.

Aurora isn't a resounding success as is although there will be a void in the YVR charter market. I wouldn't discount them from making a play of sorts. Just not the current business model. Skyservice/ Chartright etc are not in the business of owning aircraft. I suspect Chartright or Sky may look at he hangar if sold.

Being the sale of it was disallowed to to foreign ownership laws, Sky still owns it. Don't think they won't dispose of it in a heartbeat if the right qualified suitor comes along. Past Sky owned charter aircraft have been a disappointment so they most likely won't be going down that road. Unless of course, there is money to be made flipping the fleet.

Skyservice Air Ambulance was sold off a few years ago to a USA Health Care company and is managed by Skyservice.

LAS has been for sale for a few months - don't think they have had any serious interest at their price of 160 million - 5th generation of family has just taken over - and don't appear to be interested in LAS. One Challenger was recently sold, Lear 75 C-FMGL and AW139 C-FPSE are currently listed for sale by USA broker Altus Aviation.

I had read the family was going to keep one Challenger as their own private jet - and possibly keep one or two AW139 to serve their resort - everything will be sold.

Family will keep one challenger and one Learjet, plus 2 helos for the resort. A managed 604 is coming online. The family has said it wants to keep the hangar. It is defintely likely that some more lears will be sold, but with the group agressively trying to get more managed aircraft, they will likely evolve into something more like management company. So at the end of the day, much less drastic changes than originally feared. I bet that most of the reductions in flight crew will be covered by attrition and guys moving to greener pastures voluntarily. There probably won't be many "pink slips". Also retention bonuses are very generous for those that stick it out through this process, so i dont think anyone will suffer in the long run.
