Only one problem... Transport is now taking a dim view of amateur-built aircraft using major portions from previously certified aircraft. You'd have better luck getting it re-certified with a sympathetic mechanic who is willing to check in on you while you restore it, and sign off the work when it's done.

Engine and what's left of the panel are all that could be realistically used. Could be a steal of a deal looking at what Lycomings go for now a days.

That hasn't been true for at least 10 years. You would need to disassemble most of the airframe, opening every sealed cavity, before you could get it evaluated, let alone inspected, by MD-RA.redlaser wrote:On the contrary Transport Canada would welcome aircraft parts taken from a certified aircraft and used in a homebuilt
