Sunwing interview

Post by ant_321 »

I received a call for an interview. Just wondering if anyone who has interviewed recently could send me some info. I have searched the forum and can't seem to find much info on their interview process. Also has anyone else received a call?

If I have all the requirements they ask for on the job posting times 2 and then some, shouldn't I get an interview? Or at least a reply.
I am not the only one. Asking for many. Seems we get lost in the interweb system or something....

Racer,

Perhaps the style/format of your resume or wording of your cover letter is holding you back?

I have seen some atrocious resumes and some incredible (bad) wording on covers from some very experienced people. On the flip, I have seen some fresh CPL's with the best resumes I've ever seen. I had one guy that it took 4 full pages of reading to find out he had 10,000+hrs And an ATPL.

Don't underestimate how far (or short) you application will go on the strength of the resume and cover.

That seems to be the problem, I'm sure the flying public would rather have someone that can fly the plane and follow SOP's than spend their time on resume writing skills.

I have to agree with you cdnpilot, resume may just be the trouble. Possibly my cover letter (by possibly I mean deffinitely!).
i do wish that a resume could be a video of a person flying, not on word play or fancy writing, or even a flashy smile on interview day. But truth is a person has to jumo through those hoops before getting the chance to prove their abilities (or lies lol)

You may think that but a proper resume shows how professional and well spoken you can be. At that level it's not just flying skills but people skills, leadership and customer service.

Anyone know if a pilot on contract can collect EI when the contract is finished in May?

interview is a straight forward airline interview. no tricks. a scenario question like : what would you do in that situation... technical question : nothing you should ignore at this stage of your career.
very friendly and relax team of interviewers - upfront and open minded. will answer all your questions without trying to delude you.

you can collect E.I. after your contract ends as any seasonal worker, make sure all the boxes are checked stating end of contract on your end of employment slip.
11 gdo/mth
pay is 5500/mth of contract for 85hrs, x1.5 above 90(?)hrs. X2 when working on a day off. you may be taxed at 50ish% depending on your province and amount of over time. you may get tax return depending on your overall income in 2015 if you don't start too late. other tax return you will see it in 2017 since your E.I "income" will lower you global 2016 year income.

during training you're on perdiem only. hotel in toronto paid by company. 100$/day, 150$ when in the sim. plan on 2 weeks of training (if I'm not wrong). you're on payroll when starting line indoc. if pay period is 2weeks it would mean 1 mth without pay (once again correct me if that's not correct).

contract ends May 31st. the last grd-school with "high chances" of full year employment was before aug31. it may have changed though.

good luck ! :D
