F/E will advise which is the affected system
PNF, on command, will smoothly close the throttle
Hi Press Valve - Close

If the overheat warning goes out:
Operate engine at thrust setting that which keeps NACELE OVHT LT extinguished

If the overheat warning is on after 30 seconds:
Shutdown the affected engine using the Engine Failure/Precautionary Shutdown procedure.

Curious as to why, if you are operating a L-1011, that you would not have the appropriate manual?

Yeah... Good point. No active ElTens left in Canada... And an overheat seems a bit out-there for a desk flight sim failure.

Not sure what is more strange... A guy asking about a pylon over heat... Or xchox knowing the answer.

But xchox is right. I will throw in...don't fire the bottles just for a pylon overheat.

One of my favourites... Are there many (or any) still kicking around? Last I saw some pictures from Africa...

9 apparently active, including SN1067, former AC machine (FTNJ) now with Orbital Sciences.
I believe the RAF retired their fleet a few years ago.
