CYTZ 33/15 - Possible future closure.

Post by xchox »

It doesn't matter who you talk to, regardless of their ideas or plans at/for CYTZ... The one common thing that doesn't change is the closing of 33/15 and turning it into a taxiway.

Now my question is this: Is it not better to keep a runway and be able to always use it as a taxiway; instead of converting it to a taxiway and never being able to use it as a runway? This applies to other airports as well.

Am I missing something here? Thoughts?

Why would they want to use it as a runway again?

For GA. Cameron, and ORNGE also still use it when the winds call for it.

Does the TPA care about GA, Cameron Air or ORNGE?

Helicopters are ordinarily permitted to land on taxiways, aren't they? So Ornge wouldn't be affected.
