That link didn't work but yes, good ole Tex Johnson. One of the most iconic aviation pictures ever in my opinion.

Rolling the Concorde was apparently common practice during flight testing. Gotta have a little fun after going mach 2 I guess?

Anybody know if they rolled the 787? :lol:

First you need a pilot with a name like that (Tex Johnson) or Richard "Dick" Maxthrust and it should be easy from there.

Just about any aircraft can be rolled with enough aileron authority and high/low speed range, but the judgement and decision making skills required to do it unsanctioned today would result in instant unemployment. It just about got this guy fired, and that was back in the day way before now...

If memory serves I read that Boeing's former chief test pilot Lew Wallick who flew test flights of the 727 37 47 and 57 rolled every single one of them .Dont know how truthful this is.

There was a time when it was said that every airplane (or model at least) Boeing made had been rolled. The 707 is the only airliner caught on camera that i've seen.
