Re: OUCH!
Westjet was down so much and quickly this morning the TSX put a trading halt to let the market figure out what was going on. It recovered as the day went on but most companies would be down today.

Hhhaaaaaaa that's 5% today Einsteinahramin wrote:5% in one year? Half my stocks are down 5% today alone. Nothing special about that.
Over 30% in the last 2 months pal, 20% in the last 10 days...this is massive.
This looks like quite a tanker, maybe bitten off more than they can chew?

Yup, probably has nothing to do at all with their 2nd quarter financials released August 13........dirtdr wrote:Almost every US and canada stock looks like this for the last week

Majority of stocks have been in a decline for months now. AC post record 2nd quarter, down 5% that day because of some silly outlook. Given the price of oil most airline stocks should be a buy but that isn't proving true. Then again maybe I have it all wrong

If you're worried about that, then DON'T look at Bombardier common share.

Some guys say that if you compare the increase in ,say, the Dow's price, to growth in nominal U.S. GDP (sort of quick rough guage of revenue growth constraints), the Dow was approaching levels that imply its seperation from underlying fundamentals meant that prices were approaching speculative levels.HiLo wrote:More like "time to get out of the casino...ahem...stock market"cap41 wrote:Time to buy!
The recent peak over 18,000 was near a 30 percent premium over an indexed value based on nominal GDP growth. So, this is a market correction-went to high too fast lately.
Some guys say that theoretically , Downtown las vegas craps, betting outside, against the shooter, is a much better gamble than the stock market in the short term

Some guys say go stock up on canned food, the end is nigh:

My margins over the last week have been surprisingly good. I bought low and sold high, and the overall drop in stocks on Monday was temporary. A 1% drop that climbs 2% the next day means nothing in the long run.

Well they've just inked a 10 year deal with UPS, with 2 three year extension periods. I am sure there are ways out of the contract for both UPS and PCL, but these deals have Cargojet set up for the next decade it would seem
