helicopter license/hrs expiring?

Post by carbeerater »

Asking for a friend, tried searching but there were no relevant tips and absolutely dgaf enough to look at the doj site so... here is the question...

My buddy completed his cplh 25 years ago and was told he had to fly a certain amount of hrs as well as ppcs to maintain it. He was also told he would have to restart his training from scratch and that his hours have "expired".

Long question short: is he being lied to or are the helicopter currency/recency regs different from fixed wing regs?

Anyone have a quick link to the appropriate cars? I seem to recall a blanket statement about "flight crew" recency... no differentiation for fixed/rotary or am I wrong?
