Instrument rating
Hello everyone. My wife's instrument rating expired over ten years ago and she is not looking to get back into aviation. I have looked on TCs site and the info is very convoluted. Does anyone know if she will have to do a complete initial again with written? I know the rules have change recently. Thank you

Re: Instrument rating
If she's not looking to get back into aviation why would she renew her instrument rating...?
Re: Instrument rating
Dollars to donuts he meant to type "now" instead of "not".
Anyway, she will not have to do an INRAT exam and can do an IPC (Instrument Proficiency Check) in an approved sim or an airplane. Initial ride in an airplane only needed for the ATPL or an upgrade. Search on here for more info as there's been lots of threads.

Being stupid around airplanes is a capital offence and nature is a hanging judge!
