Need a hand in ZPC, YQL, YXH or YYN heating my engine
Hi All,
I've sold the Cessna and will be delivering it from Vancouver to the new owner in Saskatchewan as soon as I get a good weather window. Since the aircraft has lived on the west coast for its whole life it isnt equipped with pre-heaters and I don't have engine blankets. With the short days it looks like there will most likely be a night spent somewhere along the way. Is there anyone in YXH,YQL,YYN or any airport on the way that has some heated hangar space or some engine heating equipment that I could use on the way.
Thanks in advance!

If you can get an extension, a heater http://answers.canadiantire.ca/answers/ ... stions.htm , a blanket and 30 minutes to spare. This should work.
Just make sure the heater fits through your cowling holes, put it in the back over a piston and cover the engine with a fat blanket.
I don't know your type of cessna, but you may need an engine winter kit to restrain the flow of cold air.

I would not bother too much with Pincher Creek because I do not know of any maintenance facility there but the locals are a friendly bunch so if you are stuck, try the phone number posted on the gas pumps. Everyone there will be more than willing to assist. In Lethbridge, there are a couple of FBO's. My suggestion is QL Aviation, with an unheated hangar but individual engine heaters. Geoff will look after you. Medicine Hat also has an FBO but it has been many years since I have visited there. One word of advice. In ZPC and YQL, if you park your airplane, park it on heading 230 degrees magnetic because of the sometimes strong winds. If the winds are strong, it usually means it is a warm day. Chinook winds.
The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

If you're in YQL come see us on ramp 3. We have a heated hangar and a courtesy van if you're staying the night or just want to grab some lunch. Let me know your tail # and when you're coming through and I'll make sure we give you a deal on fuel/hangar.
