A few years back Air Canada gutted their Vancouver hanger and shipped that work to god-knows-where. They probably did it elsewhere also. FWIW, Westjet gets their heavy checks done by KF Aero, keeping it in the country.

JD Aero has been doing Porter's Q400 for a while now. And......now Westjet ......oops Encore.

jd aero = "reinspected serviceable"

Unfortunately this is old news. Been going on for years. Money talks loudest.

"Unfortunate" is definitely the right word, and with the regulators now actively changing to be "less oversight, more self-reporting" with the carriers, it's not likely to change back anytime soon.palebird wrote:Unfortunately this is old news. Been going on for years. Money talks loudest.

Don't be surprised to see a label "lavatory" on the electrical panel on some big jets. I already seen similar things happened on some Air Canada flights.

You do not believe me! check it out yourself! A lot of the paint job in Air Canada were done in countries where they do not know English. A lot of those labels are done wrong or placed in a wrong place. If you ask me, Westjet did a better job maintaining their AME jobs in Canada (or at least in North America). If this were the case, the crews would be very quick to write up a snag on such a thing. I've heard no reports of any.

What, exactly, is a "Vanity Fair"?
