A chick in the cockpit.

I just finished reading a new book (printed in 2016) called "A Chick in the Cockpit", written by Erica Armstrong.
It was a good read with some aviation insight by a former Air Ambulance pilot and a Boeing 727 captain.
Most of the book is about the spousal abuse she suffered through and for the most part overcame but the aviation part makes an interesting read.
Any comments?

I haven't read the book, but the title doesn't make me want to take the trouble.

Yeah, I don't know. For a lot of people, writing a book about their struggles is part of the healing process, and reading one of those books can help if you're going through the same thing.

...but if you're not going through the same thing, it usually isn't particularly interesting or motivating or anything, and is just as much fun as listening to someone else's wife, who you're not going to score with, talking about her hopes, dreams, kids and marriage troubles and bumming smokes from you at a wedding reception while you try to shed your skin and crawl away without her noticing.

It's like reading Buzz Aldrin's book. It's basically a painful-to-read running complaint in which he justifies, step-by-step in excruciating detail, his descent into alcoholism, because apparently it's really, really suicidally disappointing to be the second greatest man alive and get all the amazing tail you can possibly fit into your free gold Corvette for your entire life, and also that bastard Neil Armstrong.

Also, I have to agree with photofly. I think we'll be one step closer to equality once we can all stop having our minds blown every time we hear that a woman has achieved the same mediocrity everyone else has. You're the third bisexual black woman to be a payload specialist in a geosynchronous orbit? Holy shit! Write a book! All the men who have the same fourth-from-the-top position will be truly riveted!
