T 28. Flight Restrictions
Can anyone point me to the CARs or other legislation to determine if there are any restrictions to owning or flying one of these in Canada?

Re: T 28. Flight Restrictions
There are ten T28 Trojans registered on the Canadian civil register.
Eight have their eligibility for registration listed as
"CAR Standard 507.03(5)(a) Aircraft Held a Flight Permit - Private Aircraft prior 01/89 -"
and two (C-GTLW and C-GKKD both in Springbank, Alberta) as
"CAR Standard 507.03 (5)(b) - Ex-military Aircraft"
That would be a good place to start reading. The owners are listed on the register too, they could probably give you a lot of info.

If I am not mistaken, there is one (either itinerant or based) out of Parry Sound last I was in there. Was privately registered too.

GKKD was lost this summer along with its owner/pilot Bruce Evans at Cold Lake.

There are 2 of them flying here in Southern Ontario that I know of. They are a beast, would love to fly one one day!

Re: T 28. Flight Restrictions
There have been at least 7 T-28s in the Vancouver area over the past few years but Mother Nature has a way of take toll on both men and machines. I've flown 2 of these Privately registered aircraft and they are a handful...until you get familiar with them.
Re: T 28. Flight Restrictions
The guys a t VWoC don't have that much exposure to T-28's. Only really visiting aircraft. That said PM me I know a guy that maintains one out west.CL-Skadoo! wrote:GKKD was lost this summer along with its owner/pilot Bruce Evans at Cold Lake.

G'day
"There are three of them now in Virginia, Vancouver and Everett. "
There is another one being rebuilt in New Zealand as we speak. So hopefully in the next few years there will be four flying.
Cheers...Chris

Hmmm...half a Tracker...
"What's it doing now?"
"Fly low and slow and throttle back in the turns."
