"Last time I checked they do apply to every Canadian National Carrier."

"6. (1) The articles of continuance of the Corporation shall contain

(d) provisions requiring the Corporation to maintain operational and overhaul centres in the City of Winnipeg, the Montreal Urban Community and the City of Mississauga..."

Tell them to use their lawyers. So they get amendments made to the act. As mentioned. They have restraints. So? Crumble if you can't take it.. I can't build a store in a residential area. Laws are laws for a reason.

Or many loopholes through this act. They can adapt and adjust to the act, can't they?? You're not going to go around shooting people saying, oh, it's okay, they'll change the law some day..???

It's applied to all the national carriers. Do you see any other crown corp national airlines flying around? No, just one, so 1 National Carrier = All, therefore it applies to all, which is the one.

and again

"(e) provisions specifying that the head office of the Corporation is to be situated in the Montreal Urban Community."

Again, ever consider it's their own fault, their own employees try to sink the ship..

"Mr. Beaulieu pointed out that for several years now, Francophone pilots and the Pilots Association have been making representations to the management of Air Canada requesting(nice word for forcing and demanding) compliance with the Official Languages Act and a hiring policy more in keeping with the makeup of the Canadian population"
Elsewhere you claimed AC had been in the public purse all along too... Any other pure BS you care to lay on us?
Public purse.. Probably.. but let me double check. =)*

Nope not in this thread, bashed the unions, pointed out the fact the court gave Air Canada preferential treatment for Terminal One.

But, just so we can stop this "Air Canada Act" non-sense.. If my comment about air canada costing the canadian tax payer is false.. How can Air Canada be scared of the Air Canada Act if no one is being paid to enforce it?

Either the AC Act is in effect = costing tax dollars
or it isn't
Not costing Tax dollars and not Costing Air Canada sales..

I am not professing to be a financial wizard by any stretch of the imagination but I read an interesting fact this morning. Since the induction of commercial air travel in the 20's the industry has lost more money than it has ever earned. So I guess we are just carrying on a tradition!

Your quote: How can Air Canada be scared of the Air Canada Act if no one is being paid to enforce it?

The Government forces AC to abide by it. The other airlines don’t have one arm tied behind their back and then are told by the Government to be competitive but only on our terms.

Gee does WJ or Jetsgo have all their operational manuals in both languages, do they offer bilingual services on every flight? That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Oh and it makes perfect sense to you that after AC brokers a deal on the YYZ terminal in it’s planning stages, that WJ can come along when the terminal is finished and demand the same rights as AC. Give your head a shake…
