While I have doubts anyone WILL actually host a party down in HZ, if they do, hopefully there will be a good turnout :D

I will personally buy a round if someone has one, I just need an excuse.

sorry Iceman, renting an airplane is beyond is WAY too expensive for airline pilots.
1000 posts, well done lads. I'd say we should do a another Tuesday night at Brewsters.

Congrats to almost all at Canjet for surviving another year. Best of luck for the next year. I hear things are much improved over the past. You folks deserve a decent work place.

tell me about it. Just ran into a guy who has is own pipeline patrol business. He was shocked that I don't fly small planes anymore. Told him I couldn't afford it, and I'd probably be too dangerous getting in a small plane again. :/

I once took a Cathay 747 pilot sightseeing around PEI with his son because he was too nervous to operate a light aircraft again.

Safe VFR flight is just as much a developed skill as safe IFR flight. At one time I flew commercially, VFR, a lot... I wouldn't do it as PIC at this point since I'm too far removed and have lost the skills. The people like Coastal Float Pilots who do it day in day out are professionals at what they do.

I'd like to get checked out next summer so I can take my kids flying but I'll be buying a very good dual instruction flight with briefings before I've satisfied to myself that I want to take my kids out.

I was wondering the same thing 410. I know transport said no to a comon type between the 3/4/5 and the NG a couple of years ago.

well.....they are now. Good thing it's not like the time the company trying to get approval for differences training from a -200 to a -500. They got the approval shorty after everybody was online with the -500. Potential savings down the drain.

First two of the -800's arrive tomorrow (10 Dec 07). Looks like it's actually going to happen.

I hear CanJet is basing a 37 in YQM for the winter charters... that true?

If they do base a plane in YQM will the crews be payed to relocate or will they just be expected to drive back and fort from YHZ for every flight?

The crew will be put in a cab to drive back and forth from Halifax for each pairing. They will be staying in a hotel in YQM.

So do you have to have a specific rating for the NG or not?

Differences course and ride for the B73C endorsement. (B737 NG)

The NG is very similar to the B737-300/500 which is first generation glass flight deck with CRT’s. The NG has LCD panels with many small system and aerodynamic improvements but it is still a Boeing.

Easy transition for the CJ boys and girls!
