I hope if AC has another ERIP for pilots, we'll see another decent uptake of the package. With all the hotel restrictions, pre-flight covid tests (for commuters it's a headache), possible mandatory vaccinations to fly overseas (some old guys are really against this) and even add things like the day to day changes like CATSA searches, wearing masks everywhere etc. If I was in my 60's and the numbers made sense, I would probably go. I can see it being a lot more difficult for people in their 50's to make that choice though since they have a lot of years left, and Covid related restrictions could be completely passed in a year or two and they could end their last 5+ years with some normalcy. But if I only had 1-3 years left, it would look mighty tempting.
Considering the eligibility requirements and the number of pilots on disability, it is a significant subscription.

And if Jazz were to open annual ERP subscription in future years to greater than 20 per annum, I suspect there would be a healthy participation for some time to come.

For many, going to work these days is not much fun. Layovers locked up in hotel rooms or takeout food only. There will be a return to quasi-normal eventually but 2019 will not be back for some time.

So from the union email there were 86 SSP takers and another 10 from the regular ERP so that is a good thing! That will help free up a lot of left seats and help with recalls when things eventually return to normal.

Ironically I’ve actually found layovers to be among the most enjoyable I’ve had. With the exception of St. John’s and some overseas destinations I don’t fly the equipment for I’d hardly say anyone is “locked up” in a hotel.

Unions are supposed to advocate for members in good standing. Current pilots should not have to give up a better offer just because those who left got a worse deal.

If you're paying your dues, the union should be working for you.

With the 104 recalled in March or April and the 47 called for June, how many does that leave on layoff?

Has anyone who has been recalled at Jazz actually had training scheduled yet? I see alot of the recalled pilots have not been assigned training, not sure if its just the dash classic guys or other types as well.

Good to know. Must just be the dash then because its being retired. Guess I will just have to wait until the next equipment bid...

Building the pool because it's better to stay ahead of any quick expansion.

So with all those announcements, how many are left to be recalled/on LOA?

For all us at Jazz recalls have gone out today for the E175 only. 20 pilots for a June 21st start. More recalls in July for the E175 as well is in anticipation. Of course this is in accordance with the internal MOA - Out of order Seniority temporary recall revision.

That seems correct. I'm just shy of having 300 folks recalled before it's my turn. I've got another 100 or so after me.

Strange. U sure? Everybody I know got recalled to his previous equipment. If everybody goes thru an initial again it will take years to get recalled.
