Re: ground schools canceled
It's just a number SJ picked as a realistic goal to aim for. The final fleet size on this expansion may be 40, it may be 80, nobody really knows. But it gives us a metric to gauge current fleet growth. As WestJet absorbs Swoop, and Sunwing, my guess is that the available ULCC market share for the taking will be on the higher end of that range, but Lynx and Jetlines will undoubtedly give us a good run for the money, Transat Vacations has a fantastic product and is sure to fill a lot of the void left when Sunwing gets folded into WestJet. I'm sure WestJet will continue to play dirty every chance they get.
It's going to be a great few years to be a pilot in Canada.
Re: ground schools canceled
I enjoy watching pilots pretend the company they work for actually cares about them. Then defend said company and fight against your fellow pilots. Your allegiance shouldn’t be to your company. It should be to the brotherhood/sisterhood of pilots. Then focus on bettering the profession as a whole.
Keep batting at that half eaten low hanging fruit for an upgrade…
F’n madness.
ULCC model doesn’t work in Canada. Stage length to long and to many hands in the cookie jar.

Re: ground schools canceled
The first of two new aircraft arrived in YYC yesterday. We have already hired for these aircraft so won't require any further recruitment to crew these.

Is there an echo in here? Or just a burner account
Re: ground schools canceled
Our resignation rate is less than half of last year, so we dont' anticipate any ground schools until late Q4 2023 and Q1 2024

First, thank you for answering questions on here and making yourself available.
It sounds like the expansion goals have become stagnant. Are there any updates regarding F50?
Re: ground schools canceled
No change to the expansion goals of the F50 plan. Our CEO has recently stated that will realistically be closer to 2027 now instead of 2025.dontcallmeshirley wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 5:20 pmFirst, thank you for answering questions on here and making yourself available.

Two years delayed? That sounds like a change in expansion plans in my opinion.tbaylx wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 6:39 amNo change to the expansion goals of the F50 plan. Re: ground schools canceled
If the “goal” is 50 aircraft, then yes no change, the plan was 2025, obviously a change to that but that’s not what tbaylx said though.CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 6:26 pmTwo years delayed? Just a thought ….
Aren’t all plans generally flexible, adaptable, and adjustable as realities dictate?
Or, are they carved in stone as Duke likes to think they are at Flair?
Anyone in aviation who thinks the industry and circumstances within it don’t flex and bend hasn’t been paying attention.
Sheesh ….
